After breakfast we will continue to the Karst region, to the Lipica Stud Farm, home of the Lipizzaner horse. Nowadays, it is one of the most beautiful cultural and historical monuments of Slovenia, its rich history reaches back to the year 1580, when Habsburg Archduke Carl founded it. Near Lipica you can also visit Postojna Cave, which ranks among the most important caves in the world, representing a must see underground phenomena. After breakfast we will drive through the picturesque landscape to the heart of the Slovenian Alpine region. But the first stop is the town of Brezje, where we will visit Basilica. Later we depart to Bled, which is often mentioned as the »Pearl of the Alpine region«. Famous for the emerald-green lake, romantic church on the island in the middle of the lake and a medieval castle from the 11th century perched on a cliff overlooking the lake. Leisure in Bled and a trip to the island by a traditional lake boat called “Pletna”. After tasting the exquisite sour milk and Bled’s famous Kremšnita (cream cake), we continue our journey to Lake Bohinj, the largest glacial lake in Slovenia. After breakfast we continue our drive to Zagreb, which is an old Central European city. The centre of Zagreb is divided into two parts: Gornji Grad (Upper Town) and Donji Grad (Lower Town). Because of its historical structures, churches and religious monuments, Gornji Grad has great historic value attached to it and is literally a tourist’s paradise. After breakfast we will continue to Pula, which is the largest town on the Istrian peninsula. We will take a step through the old town’s landmarks, beginning and ending with the Roman amphitheatre. Then you continue to Fažana – little fisher village and take a boat to the Brijuni Islands National Park, which consist of 14 smaller and larger islands. In the park there are about 700 different flowers, trees, pines, cedars, eucalyptus and a little safari park with zebras, llamas, deer… Overnight in a 3* hotel in Pula.
After breakfast we will continue to the Slovenian coastal town of Piran, which resembles a large open-air museum. Strolling along narrow medieval streets, you will fall in love with the city and its rich cultural heritage. Free time in Portorož, then we will head to Trieste.
